Tendency

The world is changing. The more it grows, the smaller it becomes. This is not a comment. This is just a fact. Experienced, proved and actually in place.

Something similar to this process, where we can find this fact, seems to be applicable to me. Not in terms of growth (at least not for now!) but in terms of a cycle that keeps happening and repeating it self. And I keep having the same attitudes and making the same mistakes! I say “mistake” because I should know the consequences, I have seen and lived that before. So, why insisting in following the same strategy? Doesn’t it sound stupid? And, more than everything, immature?

It does, and it probably is. But the truth is that this became an automatic process, and I just don’t know how to respond differently! I just can realize that I said or did something that I shouldn’t when it’s done!

More than that, I just realized something still more horrible! That the attitudes I was fighting against criticizing, but that truly I was – inside, are probably very similar to the ones I’ve been having. And that a known statement I heard many times in my life is completely right. It was something like that: people are like mirrors to us. If you see something in somebody else that bothers you or that your first instinct is to criticize, that’s probably a “tendence” or a characteristic that you have yourself. Because it is easier to see what is bad when you are looking to the others. And, most of the times, we don’t even realize that we are frequently acting the same way of them.
